Cerana began with a shared vision between three friends determined to create a lasting, positive impact on the fashion industry. Initially, Callum and Stefan often discussed sustainable, recyclable clothing as an idealistic concept. But in September 2023, during a month-long backpacking trip in Bali, Indonesia, this idea began to solidify. While there, Callum introduced Stefan to his uncle Jonathan, whom Stefan met for the first time. Jonathan had lived in Bali for over 15 years and built an incredible two-decade career in the clothing industry. Their conversations naturally turned to fashion, and Jonathan’s insight and deep experience ignited a spark to turn their shared vision into something real.
By January 2024, the timing was right. Jonathan had recently completed a series of large contracts, and Stefan invited him to join them as a partner. Together, the three founded Cerana!
A sustainable brand built on the principles of eco-consciousness, high quality, and ethical production. Their mission was clear: to create clothing that wouldn’t just be worn, but valued, while making a positive impact on the planet.
In the following months, the team absorbed themselves in every aspect of shaping Cerana’s identity. In August 2024, Stefan returned to Bali to experience the production process firsthand. From visiting manufacturers to observing the intricate processes of printing, dyeing, and sewing, he gained a deeper appreciation for the care and respect for the environment required to bring each Cerana piece to life. They selected a factory that aligned with Cerana’s values, ensuring that each piece would be crafted with a thoughtful, sustainable approach.
In 2025, Cerana reached its defining moment, eighteen months of discipline, experimentation, and belief transformed into reality with the official launch of the brand and the birth of Cerana ‘Sew to Order’, a mindset-driven commitment to creating clothing only when it’s wanted and valued.
August 2025 saw the creation of Black Lava Episode 1, a raw and fast-paced achievement in which more than fifty garments were designed, produced, and shot in just seven days in Bali, capturing the spirit of discipline, focus, and growth that would shape the brand’s philosophy.
By October 2025, Black Lava Episode 2 elevated the concept with refined materials and bold creative direction, proving that Cerana could scale its vision while remaining rooted in its slow fashion principles.
On 8th October 2025, Cerana officially launched, a brand built with intention, grounded in sustainability, and dedicated to creating clothing that isn’t just worn, but truly valued.
